Role Snapshot/Role Summary
Sky Racing is a world leader in multi-venue, multi-channel race broadcasting, telecasting more than 80,000 races each year to millions of viewers in Australia and around the globe. We transmit to more than 5,000 outlets across Australia, and into 51 countries around the world via satellite, cable, mobile and the Internet.
Our Sky Sports Radio popular Big Sports Breakfast program is broadcast each weekday from 5:30am to 9am and serves sports lovers a fast-moving feast of interviews, progress scores, sports results as well as the day's news headlines. We are the only breakfast television program in Australia that is dedicated to sports and racing and want you to be part of our team.
How you will contribute
We want you to bring your journalistic expertise to join our team as our Big Sports Breakfast News Presenter joining Michael Slater and Terry Kennedy. As one of our flagships shows, BSB broadcasts on Sky Sports Radio and Sky Racing 1 (Foxtel) Monday to Friday 5:30am – 9am from our broadcast centre in Frenchs Forest.
We're after a self-starter to write, produce and read bulletins on the half hour to help us deliver compelling content to our audience. This role will ultimately involve working hours from approximately 3:30am – 10am to ensure material is prepared pre broadcast, in addition to broadcasting any live and breaking news.
Our Ideal Person
As the ideal applicant for the role you will have a background in journalism within a TV/Radio environment particularly with content that deals with Sports background, including Racing. You will have demonstrated experience working part of a nimble yet effective team, taking on the ownership of creating compelling news headlines for broadcast. Your writing skills will be pivotal in this role, we ask that all applicants provide a transcript of a 1-2 minute news bulletin as part of your application, along with a link to an online show reel.
