A great big piece of rock ‘n’ roll history to be given away!
Triple M set to give away one of the biggest CD libraries in the Southern Hemisphere – their own!
There are three things you can see from moon with the naked eye… the Grand Canyon, the Great Wall of China and the Triple M CD Library! And now, in preparation for their move from North Quay to their new home at The Barracks in June, Triple M is giving away one of the largest CD libraries in the southern hemisphere – all 10,000+ CDs!
Head of Triple M Content in Queensland, Rex Morris said the library has been the soundtrack to Brisbane for nearly 40 years.
“For over a generation now Triple M has played the rock that Brisbane wanted, created the soundtrack to the city. We went from vinyl to CD’s in the mid 1980s and have added to this library every week. Music is still added digitally and yes; we still receive CDs. But, we’re moving and can’t take it with us so this biggest and most valuable of Triple M memorabilia is going to one loyal Triple M Club member. It’s easily the most emotional and historic giveaway we have ever staged.”
“Our Triple M Club members have their say on what we play and now, to say thank you, one of them will win our entire music library, every CD we’ve played on Triple M (except for the ones that have been nicked by announcers over the years!) since we started broadcasting on August 22 1980.”
“It’s all here, from Aerosmith to ZZ Top and every rock ‘n roller in between. There’s hand-written notes on some CDs from the announcers who loaded them up every day, and there’s the occasional business card slipped into the covers from DJ’s of the past.”
He said it may just be the biggest rock library ever given away as a single prize.
As for the top five most played artists, well that would be ACDC, Cold Chisel, Queen, INXS and U2. “And just missing out on a top five spot is Air Supply, better luck next time guys!”
How to be in the running to win this mammoth music cache? Simply join the Triple M Club at Triplem.com.au (and, buy a truck, because you’ll need it). Music lovers must sign up by THIS Sunday May 19 and the winner will be drawn on Monday 27 May.
Triple M has been at North Quay for nearly 20 years and its relocation to The Barracks will be one of the biggest and most technical relocations in Australian radio history in Australia. Two fully operational and broadcasting radio stations (Triple M & sister station hit105) will relocate – some 125 team members – with no break in transmission, while behind-the-scenes the company will have created a cutting-edge, future-proofed new headquarters with direct input from every employee; building a workplace of the future.
