May 1 1993, 92.9FM launched to service the communities of Tamworth, the Liverpool Plains and the North West region.

Over the years they’ve held fundraisers like the ‘Buy-a-bale’ concert, which raised over $2 million for drought affected farmers and, in 2020 during the Pandemic, hosting the first Virtual Tamworth Show, which allowed their community to still showcase their work and win a prize.
In 2008, the station assisted in the building of Tamworth’s Ronald McDonald House, broadcasting live for the 12 hours it took to build.
Yesterday 92.9FM celebrated with music from 1993 playing all day, along with a morning tea. On May 6th they’ll host a listener party at the local Wests Diggers.
