ABC Presenter Linda Mottram Announces Retirement

Linda Mottram, ABC journalist, has announced via Twitter – “So with that, I bid farewell to the ABC, tho not to Twitter! 30 years and as many countries is enough. Looking forward to new adventures. Please defend public service journalism!”

Linda Mottram has been a journalist for 30 years. As a foreign correspondent for the ABC, she has served across the Middle East, in Russia and the Balkans, while she has also reported from Asia and the Pacific, covering wars, assassinations, refugee crises, and political upheavals. A Walkley Award winner, Linda was also ABC Sydney’s Mornings presenter, while she has also been an executive producer and an editorial trainer. She is currently the presenter of the evening radio current affairs flagship, “PM”. And she hosts the podcast and radio program, “This Week”. She has also reported for European radio networks, and for newspapers in Australia. Originally from Perth, she now lives at Bega, on the New South Wales south coast.

Nova’s New Changes

Nova has confirmed a major national realignment of its on-air lineup. Beginning on Monday February 9, Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie will move out of Sydney Breakfast and into national Drive. Under the new structure, the Ricki-Lee Coulter and Tim Blackwell show will take over Breakfast, replacing the current Fitzy & Wippa and Kate Ritchie team, while Joel Creasey is expected to shift into a full-time role at Nova Perth, leaving the Sydney show.
