ARN axes Adelaide breakfast show, Hayley and Max

For the second time in less than a week, ARN has axed one of its local breakfast radio shows. The radio network confirmed that Hayley & Max in the Morning, which airs on Mix 102.3 in Adelaide, will wrap up on Friday, December 12.

News.com.au reports: Max Burford and Hayley Pearson have been hosting the show together since January, with the pair making international headlines in July when Keith Urban hung up on them during an interview following a question about Nicole Kidman.

The program is currently the third highest rating FM breakfast show in Adelaide.

In a statement to Mediaweek, an ARN rep said: “In 2026, the station will launch a new live and local breakfast show as part of a refreshed whole station strategy focused on bolder content and bigger moments that really set the station apart.”

The “live and local” reference seemingly rules out the possibility that ARN stablemates Kyle and Jackie O will be networked on Adelaide radio next year

The news about Hayley and Max comes less than a week after ARN announced that the KIIS 97.3 breakfast show in Brisbane, Robin, Kip and Corey Oates, will be axed at the end of the year. They too are set to be replaced by a “live and local” show.
