Arthur Laundy unveils Tapt Media as new name for the Nine Radio Talk Stations

Pub baron Arthur Laundy has revealed the new name for his $56 million radio empire,. From May 1 the group will be known as Tapt Media.

In January Laundy made the $56m purchase of the NINE talk stations which includes 3AW in Melbourne, 2GB in Sydney, 4BC in Brisbane and 6PR in Perth.

A note to staff from Nine Radio boss Tom Malone reads:
The name Tapt captures exactly who we are today: connected, in the know, and always on. It’s also future-facing and signals the way our listeners “tap” into our content – whether that’s traditional radio, or increasingly via connected devices. Tapt is modern, agile and stands out, flagging our intent around the business we are building.”

Next came Hit 104.7 with 13.3% (-0.6) closely followed by ABC Canberra with 13.1% (+1.3). In fourth place was 2CA with 7.7% (+3.4).
