Tapt Media has partnered with the Australian Traffic Network (atn) in a strategic deal that will enhance its traffic operations and create new sponsorship opportunities across its radio and digital audio network. Effective 1 October 2026, atn’s traffic content will return across 2GB Sydney, 3AW Melbourne, 4BC Brisbane and 6PR Perth, allowing the network to expand its live traffic updates into drive-time slots and expanded weekend hours across both broadcast and digital streaming. Tapt Media says the partnership also opens up high-frequency, short-form sponsorship inventory integrated directly into live traffic feeds, giving commercial partners access to atn’s established integration model alongside Tapt Media’s significant cross-platform audience.
Tapt Media CEO Tom Malone said “This deal marks an important step in the transformation of Tapt Media, allowing us to amplify our commercial return, while delivering premium, live, and local content across news, sport, weather and traffic.”
In an email to staff, Malone said:
“This deal allows us to expand our live coverage and unlock new sponsorship inventory, but it does mean a change to our operating model. I want to acknowledge our traffic team, who have done a fantastic job delivering high-quality updates for our stations and listeners. We’re currently working closely with those impacted by this change to support them and explore other opportunities within the business.“
As we move quickly to transform Tapt Media for the future, I want to thank you all for your hard work, adaptability, and support for one another as we push towards our 2030 strategy.”
atn CEO Vic Lorusso said “We are delighted to be working alongside Tom and the Tapt Media team once again. 2GB, 3AW, 4BC, and 6PR are iconic radio brands with deeply loyal audiences. Reconnecting with these stations brings significant scale back into our network, complementing our broader broadcaster footprint and delivering immediate value to our advertising partners.”
Chief Commercial Officer Brian Gallagher added “This strategic partnership maximises the commercial power of our network. By integrating atn’s trusted reporting into our multi-platform ecosystem, we’re creating high-value, non-skippable sponsorship alongside our market-leading talk content and expanding high-frequency reach for our sponsors.”
