Barrett’s Final Brekky Show After 29 years

After 29 years on breakfast (this must be some sort of community station record!), Paul Barrett has decided to enjoy some sleep ins and take a break from the early rises on 101FM Logan in Queensland. He started on the breakfast shift in August of 1995, when Scott Mayman left the role. Before the breakfast gig Paul was doing the drive show three afternoons a week.

JJ editor Greg Newman dropped by this morning for his final brekky program (August 2) and presented Paul with a special mic flag (see pic).

Over the years he’s also done some casual work at 4BH and 4BC. As well as his regular breakfast duties at 101 FM, he is also the Production Manger and Roster Coordinator. Now aged 48, he feels that it’s time to pass the Breakfast Shift on to someone else and turn off the 3am alarm! He’ll be moving into afternoons and drive and continuing with his other roles at 101FM.
