Barry’s Back – this time at River 949.

Barry Drinkwater has been appointed as Afternoon Announcer assisting in music and programming on River 949 Ipswich. His return to full time radio follows decades in the industry including on air roles with Triple M, B105 and 4KQ Brisbane and as the inaugural Content Director of 97.3 (now KIIS 973) and 4KQ.

Barry is looking forward to his return saying, “After a relaxing 12 months working at home, the chance to do some live and local radio at River sounds just perfect to me. Can’t wait to have some fun with the River 949 team from next week!”
 
Long-time River Content Director Drew Chapman is delighted to welcome Barry and says, “It’s a massive coup to have someone of his experience on the team who will no doubt help us to make the River brand even stronger”.
 
Station Manager David Wiltshire and former colleague of Barry is also thrilled to be working with him again and says “Can’t wait to welcome him back into the industry that he belongs in!”
 

Barry joins the River team from October 17.

Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) very own radio station has upgraded to a new state-of-the-art studio in the city’s heart after more than 40 years in its original home. Territory FM relocated to a new broadcast centre in the Danala | Education and Community Precinct in September last year after being based at the CDU Casuarina campus since 1981.
