Celebrating 25 Years of Tanya Wilks on Triple M Newcastle

Tanya Wilks has celebrated 25 years on the Triple M Network (formerly KOFM) on Newcastle’s #1 Breakfast Show, Triple M’s Tanya & Steve.  Tanya was born and bred in Newcastle Tanya and has been on air since the age of 17, enjoying stints as both announcer and journalist, Tanya has now been number one in breakfast radio for 25 years.
 
Tanya was most recently awarded the Order of Australia medal for service to broadcast media, and to the community.
 
Triple M Newcastle recognised the occasion with a special moment on the show, with a surprise ten-minute package that includes contributions from her passed first co-host, David Collins, as well as messages from Southern Cross Austereo CEO John Kelly, rugby icon Peter Sterlo, her husband, former EPs, and her son.
 
Celebrating her 25-year anniversary, Tanya Wilks said: “From KOFM to Triple M, I’m loving every minute of my time in radio – it’s unbelievable that it’s been 25 years! I’m privileged to get to talk to the wonderful people of Newy every day, hear their remarkable stories, and engage with the community we love. Thank you, Newcastle, for always embracing our show and for an amazing 25 years – here’s to many more!”
