Cliff Reeve Calls Time For Final Time

WA broadcaster, Cliff Reeve, has announced his retirement from radio. After almost 50 years on air, Reeve made the announcement to listeners on his program, The Drive Home with Cliff on Triple M.

Reeve commenced his career in Bridgetown, then progressed through Katanning and Kalgoorlie before moving to Queensland. He worked for 4RO in Rockhampton and 4CC in Gladstone, before returning to WA in 1993. He hosted the Breakfast show on RadioWest in Bunbury and then took over the Drive timeslot nine years ago.

Some of you may have already read some things online in the press and in social media – there’s one or two things around. I can now confirm for you that I’m going to be retiring from full time radio at the end of this year.”

I can tell you this is my decision. I’ve been talking with the lovely boss from Triple M in Western Australia for some time about this. The Rush Hour is going to be on next year with JB & Billy – so like I say, timing. After nearly 49 years – thank you for being with me.”

“I think it is time for me to go and do some other things. But I’m not going to disappear completely. I’ll be popping up on Triple M here and there from time to time. I’ve had a chat with Billy Brownless. He is a terrific fellow and a funny bugger as well! And he and JB, a West Australian, are going to be doing the show from 4pm in the afternoon next year.”

On the 12th of December, it will be my last show for the Drive Home on Triple M. All I can say is that I’ve wanted to do this since I was 14. I’ve been doing it since I was 17 and I’ve turned 66. And now I think it’s time for me to do some other things along the way. Thank you for being there.”

Cliff Reeve’s final drive show program will air on December 12 and can be heard on Triple M WA or via LiSTNR.

The Rush Hour with JB & Billy will be heard statewide on Triple M in 2025.
