David Dalkin To Retire

After almost 50 years working in radio, David Dalkin has announced his retirement from the radio industry. Dalkin is currently Content Director of ARN’s 3BA and Power FM in Ballarat.

He started his radio career in 1975 at 2AD Armidale NSW. David took over the night shift at the station, after Doug Mulray, who also started his radio career at 2AD, moved to a day shift.

Over the decades David worked at various stations in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania.

In late 1980’s David was the inaugural Program Director of 3TT Melbourne and afterwards at TTFM, when the station converted to FM in 1990 (now known as KIIS FM Melbourne).

In 1992 he became Program Director at 91ZM Christchurch, and in 1996 won NZ Programmer Of The Year at the annual New Zealand Radio Awards.

In the late 90’s he was Group Program Director at AMP Radio Networks (now ASTRO Radio) in Malaysia.

After spending 12 years at Triple M Hobart, he moved to 3BA and Power FM in 2020. He will be retiring from the stations in March.

He trained for radio at Clarke Sinclair’s 3SA radio school.

  2. One of the nicest blokes in the radio Industry. Dave has helped many a radio enthusiast over the years. He will be sorely missed at 3BA/Power. But easily added to the very best to work in Ballarat. Happy retirement without the stress Dave
