Emma Chow joins Jimmy and Nath On 2DAYFM Breakfast

2DayFM Breakfast is set to deliver a fresh sound to Sydneysiders in 2025, with Jimmy & Nath (Jimmy Smith and Nathan Roye) confirmed as hosts, joined by Sydney radio presenter Emma Chow, starting Monday, 20 January.

After a five-month stint filling in on 2DayFM Breakfast in late 2024, Jimmy & Nath — have earned a permanent breakfast spot in 2025.

Best mates on and off the mic, Jimmy & Nath have spent nearly a decade living intertwined lives, hustling from regional radio roles to metro Weekend and Night shows to become “overnight successes!” After years of doing the hard yards and sharpening their skills across multiple networks and shows — including four and a half years as Hobart’s Hit100.9 breakfast team, where they took the show to #1 — they returned to Sydney in 2022 to host the Hit Network’s national Weekend Breakfast show, followed by their recent stint as hosts of national Nights.

Joining Jimmy & Nath is Emma Chow, a Sydney radio broadcaster who has been entertaining audiences as part of the iconic Mike E & Emma show on Edge 96.1 for over a decade before joining 2DayFM as hosts of Mornings in 2024.

Mike Etheridge from the Mike E & Emma show will continue to play a key role at SCA in 2025, with further details to be announced.

Sydney community radio station 2SER faces uncertain future as university funding dries up

Sydney community radio station 2SER has told volunteers it could close by July this year after Macquarie University said it would end its funding of the station last year. In an email to station volunteers seen by 702 ABC Sydney, 2SER station manager Cheryl Northey said the station understood UTS could not fund the station on its own.

Super Radio Network Departures

Mike Byrne has left the Super Radio Network. He was the Network Content Director a role he took on in January this year.

GfK Radio Ratings Canberra Survey 1, 2026

In the first GfK Canberra Survey for 2026, MIX 106.3 was once again the top rating station with a share of 22.8% (+0.6). Next came Hit 104.7 with 13.3% (-0.6) closely followed by ABC Canberra with 13.1% (+1.3). In fourth place was 2CA with 7.7% (+3.4). ABC Canberra was No 1 in breakfast (+4.7). 2RN dropped 8.3% in breakfast. ABC Canberra were also up 10.6% in evening.
