The Employer:

CROW FM 90.7 is an independent community radio station known for playing Burnett’s Best Music Mix and situated in the heart of the South Burnett.

Based in Wondai, CROW FM 90.7 broadcasts on FM frequencies 90.7 across most areas and 96.5 at Tarong and Meandu Mine while their live streaming service extends their reach worldwide.

The Duties:

The duties, while diverse and tailored to best use the qualifications, skills, and experience of the successful applicant, may include

  • Financial management to drive revenue targets, budgets and profitability.
  • Day-to-day operational management, including a team of 4 full-time and 2 part-time staff.
  • Sponsorship contract negotiation with clients and business partners.
  • Effective promotional strategies to enhance listenership and attract sponsors.
  • Management of client relationships.
  • Hands-on support of on-air, sponsorship, traffic, administration and accounts staff and processes to ensure harmonious business performance and growth.
  • Involvement in community networking opportunities to build and maintain relationships with local business and community leaders.
  • Active support of national sponsorship initiatives to increase revenue share.
  • Prioritisation of tasks to ensure seamless completion of daily operations with a focus on long-term strategic goals.
  • Fostering a positive work environment and team culture.
  • Management of programme direction and content selection to engage and grow audiences.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.

The Requirements:

While the position will be adapted to make best use of the experience and skills of the successful applicant, the following is a guide to what will be required to succeed in the role:

  • Proven computer literacy.

Although not essential, preference will be shown to applicants also able to offer any of the following:

  • Experience with radio broadcasting, equipment, studios, production, operational processes, sponsorships or technical standards.
  • An understanding of the media landscape encompassing audio, visual, digital and other local market competitors.
  • Financial, business and people management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry legislation.
  • Relevant business qualifications.
