In the first GfK Radio 360 Metro Radio Survey for 2026 (#1), smooth FM is once again the No 1 station in Sydney with a share of 13.5% (+0.5). 3AW continues as the No 1 station in Melbourne with a share of 13.8% (-0.1). Triple M remains No 1 in Brisbane with 13.1% (+1.0) and in Adelaide, 5MMM is the top rating station with 12.5% (-1.4). In Perth, Nova 93.7 is again No 1 this survey with 16.1% (+0.7). The ACE Radio Network has confirmed that a number of roles within the company have been made redundant. ACE Radio Production Manager Cassie Aldridge was among those who were let go.
The great Johnny Young has died aged 79 following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was involved in all aspects of show business as a singer/songwriter as well as a radio/TV host. His first job in radio was as an office boy at 6IX Perth when he was 14, and that was the station where he also ended his radio career. He also worked on 6KY and 3XY Melbourne from 1968-1972.
