Hamish Macdonald announced as new ABC Radio Sydney Mornings host

Hamish Macdonald has been announced as the new ABC Radio Sydney Mornings host. The journalist is set to step into the new role from Monday, replacing Sarah Mcdonald.

Macdonald said there was “so much to talk about this year”, with no better place to do it than in Parramatta in Sydney’s west, according to the ABC.

“I hope listeners will be able to count on me to hold the pollies and the powerful to account, upholding the great traditions of 702,” Macdonald said.

“Sydney is such a dynamic city with no shortage of great stories to share, so I’m really looking forward to opening the phone lines.”

Macdonald has had stints with the ABC since 2016, having hosted Q&A and Radio National Breakfast.

He also previously worked for The Project over at Channel 10.

ABC News Channel presenter Kathryn Robinson is set to present the Mornings show on Fridays, while Dom Knight will present the Friday and Saturday morning Drive show, with Chris Bath to host the program Monday-Thursday from next week.

Rae Johnston will present the Sunday Mornings program.
