Jackie ‘O’ Henderson off-air absence enters second week

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s highly anticipated return to the airwaves has taken another unexpected turn, following a brutal on-air blow-up with co-host Kyle Sandilands. Listeners tuning in on Monday were expecting the 51-year-old to return following a heated on-air clash with co-host Kyle Sandilands last month. Instead, the 54-year-old shock jock opened the program alongside producer and newsreader Brooklyn Ross – without Henderson.

“It’s just the two of us again,” Sandilands told Ross at the start of the show.
It’s a shame Jackie isn’t here, she won’t be here all week again, everyone, for all those monitoring.
I do feel like Jackie will be back. I know there’s a lot of speculation and everyone thinks they know everything.
“If anyone would know anything it would be me, but I know nothing, zero. Big fat zero about anything.”
ARN later confirmed to SkyNews.com.au that Henderson would be extending her break.

Henderson’s absence follows a fiery exchange that unfolded live on air after Sandilands accused her of allowing her “fixation” with astrology to interfere with her work.
“Your fixation on this has made you almost unworkable,” Sandilands told her.
“You are off with the fairies with this s**t, it’s mental.”

He compared her dependence on astrology charts to that of a “drug addict,” which highlighted a sensitive issue given Henderson’s past struggles with addiction.

He also stated that “everyone in the building” had complained about her for “not doing the rest of the job”.

The comments left Henderson visibly upset.

I would never say things like that about you,” she said.

“I come in here and I do my job and I do it well.”

Sandilands swiftly responded: “I wouldn’t say that lately, no.”
