John Laws Announces Retirement 

John Laws has announced on his networked 2SM program this morning that he is retiring. After 70 years in radio, his final program will be Friday November 8. 

Laws began his career in radio at 3BO in Bendigo in 1953.

  1. When I first came to Australia from Britain, I use to tune into JOHN LAWS when ever I was home, best ever, He told it as it was, If you where a dick head, he told you so, Have a long retirement.

In the first GfK Canberra Survey for 2026, MIX 106.3 was once again the top rating station with a share of 22.8% (+0.6). Next came Hit 104.7 with 13.3% (-0.6) closely followed by ABC Canberra with 13.1% (+1.3). In fourth place was 2CA with 7.7% (+3.4). ABC Canberra was No 1 in breakfast (+4.7). 2RN dropped 8.3% in breakfast. ABC Canberra were also up 10.6% in evening.
