Local News takes centre stage in ABC Radio’s Saturday makeover

ABC Local Radio is set to introduce a new programming format on Saturday mornings, starting from 13 January. The updated schedule will feature an expanded focus on local news coverage and stories, specifically tailored to the needs of local audiences.

From 8 am, listeners can expect an additional 30 minutes of content centred on local news, including in-depth analysis and interviews with local reporters, political journalists, and commentators. This programming aims to highlight key issues relevant to each state and territory.

Ben Latimer, ABC’s Head of Audio Content, called it an exciting development for the studio and its audience.
