Mark Soderstrom Quits SAFM Breakfast

Mark Soderstrom has quit breakfast radio saying he faces the “biggest challenge of his life”. He made the announcement during his SAFM breakfast show this week, telling listeners that he was left with no choice but to step away from the microphone.

The Adelaide Advertiser reports that Soderstrom has decided to prioritise time with his young family ahead of the demands of breakfast radio.

“Life has changed for me recently and I’m facing the biggest challenge of my life and I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and it’s been pretty tough,” he said alongside co-host Rebecca Morse.

Soderstrom will continue on-air until the end of the year, and remain as 7NEWS Adelaide weekday sports presenter.

Morse’s future at SAFM is now under a cloud following her co-host’s departure. The Bec & Soda show was in sixth place in the timeslot in the latest radio ratings, behind Mix 102.3, Nova 919, FIVEaa, ABC and Triple M.
