More Changes at 2GB – Chris O’Keefe Departs

On Friday December 13, Chris O’Keefe announced that this would be his final drive program on 2GB. He’s called time on not only his radio career – but also his journalism career. In 2025 he plans to move into the political and media advocacy space.

Content Manager Luke Davis says:

“While this is a disappointing development for many of us – it’s a decision that has been made entirely by Chris, in consultation with his family.

While the timing of today’s announcement will come as a surprise to many – Chris very generously wanted the focus this week, and today, to be about Ray Hadley.

I’d like to thank Chris for his service to 2GB over the past couple of years, to Nine for the past 13 years and to media and journalism for the past two decades. He has been a force to be reckoned with, an incredibly hard worker and a genuine talent that has made an impact in this industry and the broader community. He will be missed by many.

A new 2GB Drive host for 2025 will be appointed in due course.

But for now, we say thank you to Chris – and wish him, Vonny and Henry all the success and happiness for the future.
