News Axings At NOVA Entertainment.

Three longtime radio newsreaders have been made redundant at Nova Entertainment. They were: Smooth FM Breakfast news presenter Nikole Gunn, ACRA multi award winning Smooth newsreader Steve Blanda and Nova Adelaide breakfast newsreader Abbey Smith.

Nikole Gunn was previously News Director at DMG Radio Australia and Austereo in Melbourne. Steve Blanda, who has been with Smooth for nearly a decade, has been serving in radio news for nearly fifty years.

The latest changes are part of NOVA Entertainment’s News and Programming structure.

4BC On Air Update

From Monday, September 30, Peter Fegan will look after the 4BC breakfast time slot until the end of the year, while Gary Hardgrave will continue on in Drive, before the 2024 Survey Period wraps up on Friday, December 13.

Hit 97.9 Goldfields was the most listened to station in Kalgoorlie in the latest Xtra Insights Survey (#1/2024) with 40.5% (-5.8). Next came Triple M Goldfields with 22.1% (-0.3) followed by Triple J with 12.6% (-0.9) then ABC Goldfields with 12.5% (+4.3.
