Night dog walk ends in broken hip for 3AW radio presenter Philip Brady

Melbourne radio legend Philip Brady is recovering in hospital after breaking his hip while walking his dog. Brady, 84, presents Remember When with Simon Owens on 3AW but is expected to be missing from the show for a couple of weeks following a fall early Friday morning January 12.

Brady was taking his dog Oro for an after-midnight walk. As they returned home the dog reacted to movement on the street, causing Brady to take a heavy tumble on the concrete driveway at his house.

He was transported to hospital by ambulance and will require surgery on the damaged hip.

Brady has been through the horrors of a broken hip before. While on holiday in 2013 he fell down 35 marble stairs at the Harbour Grand Hotel in Hong Kong and had to undergo surgery before returning to Australia.

Kevin Trask will cover for Brady while he is off air recovering.

Brady has been an AW presenter for more than 30 years. (Source: Herald Sun)
