Old Blokes Drive For A Cancer Cure

Radio man David Rogerson is heading the ‘Old Blokes Drive For A Cancer Cure’ that commences on Wednesday April 30.

10 Old Blokes we will be driving 10 different Mercedes Classic vehicles to raise funds for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. Dave says: “My Mercedes has the names of fellow radio friends and close family I’ve lost to cancer in the past 5 years written on my side window. I’m sure you will know at least one of them as well.”

He added: “it’s not a race or an off road rally. Their goal is to reach a $200,000 fund raising target. Dave says: “We know times are tougher in 2025, but our aim is to exceed our 2023 achievement of $100,000 raised”.

(see the attached map and pic)

Why are only Blokes driving ?? – let’s chat and I can reveal the story behind the reason.

The Old Blokes will be raising funds alongside local charity organisations like The Lions Club, sporting and community clubs. They’ll be talking to local groups about our goals for the important fundraising research. They will cover all their own expenses from accommodation to meals and fuel.

Dave is available to provide interviews, background info and colour pieces if you need them. Your station or show will get plenty of “thank you’s as well”
