Sam Anglesey dies aged 80

Well known Tasmanian broadcaster ‘Big’ Sam Anglesey died aged 80 on July 7. Apart from his career in Tasmania where he worked on Tassie stations (7HO, 7LA, 7EX), he was also a part of the ‘Greater 3UZ’ team in the ‘60s and also worked on air at Adelaide’s 5AD. He began his radio career in Kalgoorlie, WA.

His daughter Emma is a singer in the group the Runaway Belles.

Nova’s New Changes

Nova has confirmed a major national realignment of its on-air lineup. Beginning on Monday February 9, Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie will move out of Sydney Breakfast and into national Drive. Under the new structure, the Ricki-Lee Coulter and Tim Blackwell show will take over Breakfast, replacing the current Fitzy & Wippa and Kate Ritchie team, while Joel Creasey is expected to shift into a full-time role at Nova Perth, leaving the Sydney show.
