4BC has axed breakfast hosts Sofie Formica and Dean Miller after just six months on air, They rated only 3.2% in the latest GfK survey making 4BC the eighth rating station in the breakfast ratings.
The Courier Mail reports: The major shake-up was announced to listeners on air, with Afternoons presenter Carla Bignasca reading a statement on behalf of station manager Siobhain Ryan.
“Here at 4BC, we are making some temporary changes to the on-air announcer line-up for the rest of the year, keeping familiar voices on air and continuing to deliver for you, our listeners,” Bignasca said.
From Monday, current Mornings host Jason Matthews will move into Breakfast, while Gary Hardgrave will shift from Drive to Mornings.
Bignasca will take over Drive and former 4BC overnight and weekend presenter Michael McLaren will return to the station to host Afternoons networking from Sydney station 2GB.
The Garden Clinic will also return to the weekend schedule.
Matthews will become the fifth main host or hosting team to occupy the 4BC Breakfast slot since Neil Breen began presenting the program in 2020.
Formica and Miller were informed of the decision before Thursday’s announcement and returned to air on Friday to farewell listeners.
The station’s permanent 2027 lineup is expected to be announced later this year.
