Super Radio Network Strengthens Content and Technology Capabilities

The Super Radio Network has announced the appointment of two senior executives, reinforcing the Network’s commitment to strengthening content and technology across its stations.  Mike Byrne has been appointed Network Content Director, commencing in early February. The Network has also appointed Peter Schmidt as Group Technology Manager.

Based in Newcastle, Byrne will play a key role in overseeing and enhancing the Network’s local content offering, while also contributing to broader group-wide content strategy.

CEO Rhys Holleran said Byrne’s appointment was a major win for the Network.

“Mike is one of the most respected content leaders in the industry, particularly in Newcastle, where his reputation speaks for itself.

“He brings a proven track record across Sydney, Brisbane and Newcastle, and a deep understanding of how strong local content connects with audiences.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Mike into this key leadership role as we continue to lift our content offering across the Network.”

“It’s great to be back in my hometown of Newcastle doing the job I love,” Byrne said.

This network is on the move and an exciting place to be, and I’m looking forward to being part of the Super Radio Network team.”

Holleran said Schmidt’s appointment reflected the Network’s focus on continuous improvement across all areas of the business.

“Peter brings a wealth of experience, including a strong background in commercial radio, and his appointment is an important step in strengthening our technology capability.

“This role touches every part of the business, from what we deliver to listeners to how we operate day to day, and Peter will be a key part of our leadership structure as we continue to evolve and improve.”

“It’s great to be coming back to radio,” Schmidt said.

“It’s a terrific business, and I’m looking forward to contributing to Super Radio Network’s continued success.”

These appointments reflect Super Radio Network’s ongoing investment in leadership that supports strong local content, innovation and long-term growth.
