Vale Julie Watts

Former 2MW and 4GG announcer Julie Watts has died. Julie relieved Beth Francis as ‘Miss Midnight’ in the 1972/1973 era at 4GG on the Gold Coast.  She died on June 20 and had been unwell for some time.

Julie also worked for 2MW at the Murwillumbah office for around 12 years doing on-air shifts, traffic and promotions.  Julie was survived by her husband Darrell, son Kris, Kris’ wife Judi and grandchildren Frankie and Grayson.  

Her husband Darrell also worked for Radio 97 in promotions after leaving the NSW Police Force.  After Julie & Darrell both left radio, they served the Tweed and Murwillumbah community with their insurance company.
