‘Big Steve’ Wakely has died at the age of 75 on the Gold Coast.  He had been battling liver cancer. Steve worked in television as well as on radio.  He spent time with ATN Channel 7 (as an audio director) as well as TEN. He worked in radio at Sydney stations 2GB, 2UE, 2UW and in Newcastle at 2KO (as a teenager).

No details of a funeral service at this stage and it will be a private cremation. His family are discussing the idea of holding a memorial service at a future date probably in Newcastle where he spent a lot of time and memories were created.
