Vale Vern Stone

Vern Stone, former Perth radio executive, died on September 25, 2022. He is best known for his time at Perth stations 6PR and 6PM.

Vern was also a major part of the 3AK ‘Beautiful Music’ era starting in June 1973 and was the station GM.

  1. I worked with Vern at 3AK Beautiful Music during the years 1975 to 1980 , a very dynamic man and highly respected during my time there as a music programmer /music director …

  2. Vern hired me to join 3AK as PD and Assistant GM in 1977. A tremendously good motivator and a fabulous salesman. I worked with him until leaving the station in 1982,
