Bruce Carty Wins Award For 60 Years Radio Research

Bruce Carty, Australian radio historian, has been presented with an award from the Australian Sound and Recording Association for his 60 years (still ongoing) research into the Australian broadcasting development and history. 

Carty was recently invited to attend the annual two day conference of the  that was held at the National Film and Sound Archives in Canberra.  He was also told that he was to receive a media award but was given no further details until the presentation.

He is responsible for compiling a detailed history of over 700 A.M. broadcasting stations. This history (so far) consists of 452 pages as a free to download Ebook at

River 94.9 is the station most listened to in the latest Ipswich Xtra Insights survey (#1/2024).  They had a share of 33.6% (+4.0). Next came B105 with 13.4% (-1.3)  then Triple M with 10.1% (+3.8). River 94.9 was the station listened to most in all sessions.
