Cairns Has A New Triple M Brekkie Show

Longtime Triple M brekkie host Elliott Lovejoy signs off on Friday March 4 to co-host The Rush Hour across Queensland Triple M stations and will hand the early morning microphone over to well-known Cairns stuntwoman and marriage celebrant Tammy Barker and experienced radio journeyman and storyteller, Jason Bodge.

Tammy Barker & Bodge for Breakfast begins on Cairns 99.5 Triple M on Monday March 7.

SCA Cairns General Manager, Richard King said the new breakfast show would continue the history of bringing local stories, sports, news, laughs, music and everything Cairns to the breakfast table, and this time, with two hosts!

“We bid a fond farewell to Elliott Lovejoy – although he of course remains a fierce Cairns local and we will continue to hear him on the new Rush Hour Drive show on weekdays – and we can now officially announce Tammy Barker & Bodge for Breakfast for 99.5 Triple M,” he said.

“It’s exciting to welcome Tammy Barker. She’s a proud Cairns local, has her finger on the pulse of everything happening in town and she has some wild stories to tell! As a professional stuntwoman for 12 years, she was set on fire, dragged by horses, flung from 50 metre buildings, and was the ‘Gabrielle’ stunt double on Xena: Warrior Princess. She’s also a marriage celebrant. This is a pretty good warm up for brekkie radio!”

“Bodge is overflowing with stories and has told me it is impossible for him to be embarrassed – something that will be tested on the show! He can’t wait to dive into the Cairns community and become part of our listeners’ mornings. This is an exciting new era for Cairns radio and we can’t wait for them to introduce themselves on air on March 7.”

Tammy Barker echoed King’s enthusiasm.

“As a proud Cairns local, I am thrilled to be back on-air, this time co-hosting Triple M breakfast with Bodge. I’ve spent years working and travelling around the world but firmly believe in the saying, there is no place like home!” she said.

Bodge said he was looking forward to a brand-new adventure in Cairns. “As Tammy and I have been preparing, it’s clear we both have the same drive. Her passion and knowledge of all things Cairns will instantly create engaging local radio, and it’ll be up to me to try and keep up with her and learn all about my new home as we go!”

Tammy Barker & Bodge for Breakfast on 99.5 Triple M Cairns starts on Monday March 7 and will air weekdays from 5.30am to 9am.

The Rush Hour with AB & Elliott on Triple M will air across Queensland to Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Maryborough and the Fraser Coast, and Toowoomba from 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday.
