Esther “Woody” Nicols departs Triple M Hobart

6 September 2023

A year and a half after Woody & Tubes (Esther “Woody” Nicols and Andy “Tubes” Taylor) replaced talk-back host Brian Carlton ‘The Spoonman’ on Triple M Hobart Breakfast, Nicols has left the station.

Nichols had been away from the show, apparently on holidays, since August 18. Triple M Hobart Content Director Phil Bradley announced the news while co-hosting with Tubes while Woody was absent.

Woody and Tubes have been unable to make up ground on Hit, 7HO and ABC Radio Hobart in the breakfast slot, down 0.4 to 8.7 in June’s Xtra Insights survey of the region.
