Mark Gibson has been appointed as Stan Shaw’s replacement on ABC Perth breakfast in 2024.
Manager of ABC Radio Perth Danielle Benda said: “Mark will bring great energy to Breakfast. He knows Perth, knows our issues and is very engaged in our community. He is curious about people and loves a chat and I know is really looking forward to getting to know our audience well as he keeps us company and brings us everything we need to know to get the day off to a good start.”
4BC has axed breakfast hosts Sofie Formica and Dean Miller after just six months on air, They rated only 3.2% in the latest GfK survey making 4BC the eighth rating station in the breakfast ratings.
Triple M Fraser Coast 103.5 was the most listened to station in Maryborough Queensland in the latest Xtra Insights Survey (#1/2026) with 27.5% (+5.7). They were followed by Hit 101.9 Fraser Coast with 26.6% (-2.8). Next came ABC Wide Bay with 13.0% (+0.8).

I have been listening to 6WF since the 1950’s as a young lad because my parents were keen listeners. The popular broadcaster in those days was John Juan. Over the past 70 years I have listened to a number of wonderful breakfast presenters on the ABC, however, I find you to be the best of the bunch. Enjoyable to listen to, a good format, great topics, interesting guests, your OB’s work well and a your program flows from start to finish.
