SCA launches eight digital radio stations on the Gold Coast

SCA has announced that it is launching eight Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB+) digital radio stations from the Hit and Triple M networks on the Gold Coast, bringing local listeners the best of digital radio music and entertainment offerings for the first time.

The Gold Coast will be the 10th city in Australia to have DAB+, which provides more spectrum efficient technology than AM and FM and offers better audio and text information for its programs.

In addition to its two FM stations, 90.9 Sea FM and 92.5 Triple M, SCA will launch six new digital radio stations across its Triple M, Hit and LiSTNR brands.

Available from today April 4, listeners will be able to hear four new Triple M DAB+ digital stations, including 92.5 Triple M with breakfast show Flan, Ali & Spida, Triple M Classic Rock, Triple M 80s and Triple M 90s which is hosted by Killing Heidi lead singer, Ella Hooper.

On the Hit Network, the Gold Coast can now hear 90.9 Sea FM with the Gold Coast’s #1 breakfast show[1], Bianca, Dan & Ben, Easy 80s Hits, and the Dannii Minogue hosted station, Oldskool 90 Hits, along with newly launched LiSTNR station, RnB FRIDAYS Radio providing the best RnB hits 24/7, which includes breakfast show, Mike E & Emma from 7-10am weekdays.

Combined with its LiSTNR, SoundCloud partnership, Triple M and Hit networks, SCA has 11 DAB+ stations in its stable, reaching more than 955,000 people each week[2], and continues to grow its digital radio audience, doubling its listenership since 2017[3].

SCA Head of Music & Provincial Group Content Director, Mickey Maher, said: “We are so excited to share our Hit and Triple M DAB+ stations with audiences on the Gold Coast, and know they will love the new variety and quality content we have on offer.

Our Hit and Triple M DAB+ stations now offer the Gold Coast a broad range of music genres to cater for a range of tastes and let’s not forget the calibre of hosts including Dannii Minogue, Ella Hooper, and Mike E & Emma.”

Gold Coast’s DAB+ digital radio stations are accessible from today on DAB+ and available via LiSTNR.
