Star still top of the tree on the Central Coast: Xtra Insights

In the first Xtra Insights survey of the Central Coast in a year, Star 104.5 remains the leader ahead of Hit101.3 and Triple M 107.7.

Shayne Sinclair, Star 104.5 Program Director said:

‘It’s a fantastic day for the team at Star 104.5, maintaining our lead as the Number 1 station on the Central Coast. That’s 3 years in a row!

Rabbit & Gina dominate Breakfast, being the only commercial show in the time slot to see an increase in 10+ listening.

To also be #1 in every single day part is an awesome confirmation that when the Central Coast put Star 104.5 on, they know exactly what they’ll get. And they love it!’

Star dropped 0.6 to an 18.5 audience share 10+, Hit was unchanged at 15.1 and Triple M saw a 1.6 loss to sit at 11.0. The biggest growth in the region was for triple j, up 0.8 and fourth with 7.7.

Despite 1.8 and 1.9 losses in mornings and evenings for Star, the breakfast pairing of Rabbits and Gina, Dave ‘Rabbit’ Rabbetts and Gina Jeffreys, were up 0.5 to 19.4, near five points ahead of Hit’s Maz and Matty who dropped 0.6 to 14.7.

Only Triple M, of the big Gosford three, saw any growth in their cumulative audience. ABC Central Coast, steady at 4.2, saw the most, with 1000 extra listeners. Star picking up almost 2000 in breakfast.

SCA Head of Regional Content, Blair Woodcock, said of the results:

“It’s fantastic to see today’s result confirming over 42% of the Central Coast is listening to SCA stations each week! The team at Hit101.3 should be proud to claim the #1 station for People 25-54 and Maz & Matty as #1 in Breakfast for People 25-54. Triple M has done a brilliant job to claim #1 station for Males 25-54 and Paddy & Rob Palmer as #1 Breakfast show for Males 25-54.

“Well done to the entire team in Gosford, who continue to work so hard to deliver the best radio for the Central Coast.”
