Steve Jacobs Loses His Networked Breakfast Show

Steve Jacobs, former Today show weatherman, 55, confirmed his departure on Instagram, saying he was let go as a result of a management change. Stevie was hired in April 2020 to host breakfast across 2UE and sister stations 4BH, 6GT and Magic 1278.

Sadly this is my last day hosting classic music on 2UE,‘ Steve wrote, alongside a photo of himself in the broadcast studio. “The station has been leased to another company which is changing the format but I have had an absolute blast, learned so much about music and have improved ratings by 176 per cent since I started”

Breakfast with Stevie Jacobs aired weekdays.

When Ace Radio took control of 2UE, it relaunched the station with a new line-up, logo and branding, and Steve was one of the casualties.

  1. So sad to see Stevie get the chop..he had a good operation going there. Lets hope they don’t go back to a talk/lifestyle/ no music format…I don’t think I could stomach it after the failed 3MP experiment. People just need reassuring music in these insane times.

  2. Good Morning,

In respect to ACE Radio taking over the Nine Radio Stations, what’s happened to 6GT in Perth under this arrangement ?

    Thank you.

  3. I am so so disappointed that Stevie has been let go.
Absolute joy listening to him and the music.
For the first time in my life I considered ringing 4BH to say that their selection of music played in the morning the other week was real gold. There was a block of 6 that particularly had me floating.
In this world full of bad news and scrap was truly my escape.
Faceless Management need the sack not Stevie.
    They have no idea.

  4. 6GT is now a stand alone station. It was not a part of the ACE Radio deal. TRied to listen online on January 20 and I couldn’t hear anything.
