Well known Sydney announcer Paul B Kidd has died aged 76 after a protracted illness. Beginning as 2UE’s fishing and boating commentator, Paul B became a regular guest on the weekend, which he ultimately came to host alongside George Moore from 2001.
The duo would go on to share (and dominate) the airwaves for 20 years, many of those on 2GB and 4BC.
Paul B battled cancer and heart issues in his later years, including a cardiac episode in 2018.
“You just know, you just know, John, when something’s working,” George Moore said to John Stanley. “You know deep down inside that you’ve got a chemistry.
“We were so, so different to each other but, and here’s the thing many people probably don’t know, … our childhoods had a lot of similarities.”
Paul also published books on high-profile murders around Australia including Australia’s Serial Killers and Never to be Released.
