Vale Tony Verhoeven

Tony Verhoeven passed away in Sydney on March 10 following some major health issues. He commenced his radio career at 2GN Goulburn in 1970.

From there he moved to Sydney in 1972 to join 2CH in their successful Beautiful Music period. Tony is well known for his production work and he got to work with John Laws in the peak of his career. He worked with Lawsie at 2UW, 2UE as well as 2GB.

Tony is the brother of radio man Peter Verhoeven who was a longtime GM at 4KQ Brisbane. Peter says: “My brother had a great radio career and worked with the best. Rest in peace Tony.”

Tony’s son Dean says: “Such a happy care free guy. every day of my life from now on I feel I will have a thought of you in it. You have taught me to nurture my beautiful son that will thankfully have a memory of you. Love you always. Your one and only son! Rest in peace. Xxx”

  1. I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Tony
    He was such a great guy and a very good worker and committed and very helpful to the team around him.
    Worked with Tony at 2UW while working for the John Laws Program.
    Another great person gone.
    My condolences to his family.
