Ben Hanant Rreturns To The Airwaves

The Gold Coast’s very own Ben Hannant will return to the airwaves with a brand-new local morning show, Deadset Legends with Elliott Lovejoy & Ben Hannant, to air Saturdays 8-11am from Saturday, 17 February on 92.5 Triple M Gold.

From the surf, sand and to the hinterland, Ben will host this dedicated Gold Coast radio show alongside Triple M’s Elliott Lovejoy. Bringing their passion, expertise and relatability to Triple M Gold, together they will cover all things the Coast loves the most, including the latest local footy club news, honouring unsung heroes around town, chats about local matters and deep dives into the world of sport. As well as the new show, Ben will also continue to call NRL games with the Triple M Rocks Footy team.

Born and bred on the Coast, Ben is one of 11 siblings, married to wife Emma and together they have eight children. He’s the ultimate family man with a big heart and cheeky wit, while always ready for a stunt! Affectionately known as ‘The Polar Bear’, Ben was the local Burleigh Bears junior who turned national NRL legend, playing over 12 seasons, including in State of Origin and representing Australia. Having made his mark on the sporting field, Ben found a new career in the radio studio, hosting the Breakfast shift on 90.9 Sea FM from 2017 to 2023.

“I can’t wait to get back in the studio and deliver a show for the Coast! I’m really excited to join Elliott and share local stories, talk about the things that really matter to our community, build a connection with everyone around the Gold Coast and celebrate what makes our city so special. Let’s get started!” said Ben.

Joining Ben in the studio is co-host of The Rush Hour Queensland, Elliott Lovejoy. Whether it’s on a field or a court, Elliott is a sport fanatic. In the radio game for over 13 years, his credentials expand throughout the country and overseas to Canada, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Elliott also loves calling local NRL games for Triple M and cheering on his beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

SCA Head of Content – Regional, Blair Woodcock, said: “No one knows the Coast like Ben, which makes him the perfect person to combine his community passion and sporting excellence with Elliott, to create a standout Saturday show for this growing city.

“From local clubs news, big local moments or giving locals their say on what’s happening around town, the addition of Dead Set Legends completes the 92.5 Triple M Gold stable and ensures that the station and its shows deliver on the promise to be made for Gold Coast listeners every day.”

Starting Saturday, 17 February, listen to the Gold Coast’s Dead Set Legends with Elliott Lovejoy & Ben Hannant, Saturday mornings from 8-11am on 92.5 Triple M Gold and on LiSTNR.
