In the latest GfK Radio 360 Survey (#8/2023), talk stations 2GB Sydney and 3AW Melbourne continue their reign at No 1. 2GB has a share of 12.1% (-0.3), 3AW has 13.6% (+0.1). Triple M stations lead in both Brisbane and Adelaide. 5MMM in Adelaide has a share of 14.4% (-0.5) and 104.5 Triple M in Brisbane has a share of 13.3% (+1.5). 96FM in Perth is No 1 at 15.3% (+2.3). Sydney community radio station 2SER has told volunteers it could close by July this year after Macquarie University said it would end its funding of the station last year. In an email to station volunteers seen by 702 ABC Sydney, 2SER station manager Cheryl Northey said the station understood UTS could not fund the station on its own.
Mike Byrne has left the Super Radio Network. He was the Network Content Director a role he took on in January this year.
In the first GfK Canberra Survey for 2026, MIX 106.3 was once again the top rating station with a share of 22.8% (+0.6). Next came Hit 104.7 with 13.3% (-0.6) closely followed by ABC Canberra with 13.1% (+1.3). In fourth place was 2CA with 7.7% (+3.4). ABC Canberra was No 1 in breakfast (+4.7). 2RN dropped 8.3% in breakfast. ABC Canberra were also up 10.6% in evening.
