Lui Zacher departs K Rock and Bay FM

Lui Zacher (pictured left) has resigned as journalist and newsreader at K Rock and Bay FM in Geelong after two and a half years in the roles.

In a post on LinkedIn, Lui described the eventful last couple of years that led to his decision to move on to a new challenge.

After a whirlwind of two and a half years, including dealing with COVID, two elections, a Big Ute (How good are utes?!), interviewing local politicians, the Prime Minister, Opposition Leader, and the Premier, all while covering countless local stories, working weekends and shift work, it’s time to hang up the headphones.” wrote Lui.

I would like to thank everyone at K Rock and Bay FM for the absolute ball I’ve had over the last two years, and would especially like to thank Rob McLennan and former general manager Andy Mathers for giving me a go.

Along with Andy and Rob, I would like to acknowledge Rachel Patterson, who’s taken over as General Manager. She’s already achieving great things and I will continue to push K Rock and Bay FM into the future, I’ll be cheering on from afar.”

I have learned a great deal during my time with Geelong Broadcasters, I will always look back fondly over my time in Geelong, and hold my time in the newsroom in high regard, as a valuable period of my professional life.”
