After almost 2 years as Brand and Promotions Manager for SCA in Central Queensland, Ophelia “Opho” Standley-Thompson took last year off to look after her 14 year old brother (before COVID). However she’s now jumped back in the thick of radio and says she has a new dream role as Content Director with Grant Broadcasters in Bega/Far South Coast NSW. She is actually the youngest employee in the region. Opho says the team is amazing and she loves coming to work every day – and the staff don’t even mind when she brings her pet duck in!
Sydney community radio station 2SER faces uncertain future as university funding dries up
Sydney community radio station 2SER has told volunteers it could close by July this year after Macquarie University said it would end its funding of the station last year. In an email to station volunteers seen by 702 ABC Sydney, 2SER station manager Cheryl Northey said the station understood UTS could not fund the station on its own.
