Brent Ford will head the news teams for Capital Radio

10 February 2023

Brent Ford has been appointed to the newly created position of News Director of the Capitol Radio Network. Born and raised in the nation’s Capital, Brent has worked at the Network’s Canberra Newsroom for over five years.

Ford is also the Head-Caller for the 2CC Raiders Call Team calling Canberra Raiders matches and he also hosts Canberra’s only program for Canberra Raiders fans on 2CC during NRL season.

Having started his career eight years ago in the Capital Radio Newsroom, Brent has also previously worked at Canberra FM and as a political advisor.

He will lead all news operations for the Capital Radio Network with a full-time staff of eight Journalists and cadets based in Canberra, Goulburn, Jindabyne and Warragul.

In an era when newsrooms are shrinking, the Capital Radio Network is investing heavily into expanding its team to develop news content for its stations and listeners.

Group Program Director Pete Davidson says, “Brent has a news sense and ability to mentor others that make him the ideal choice to lead our news team. His dedication and versatility as a Journo, on-air personality and NRL commentator is unrivalled in Canberra. In this new role I know he will be awesome”.

Brent commences his new role Monday February 20.
