The Spoonman on air in Canberra

13 February 2023

Broadcaster, commentator, writer and producer Brian Carlton is joining the team at Talking Canberra 2CC. With an extensive background in talk radio starting as the youngest ever talkback host on Sydney’s 2UE as well as stints at 2GB, Brian went on to revolutionise the talk format for a younger audience at Triple M as The Spoonman.

More recently Brian innovated the Tasmania Talks morning program and later hosted the breakfast shift at Triple M Hobart.

He says, “Canberra is a mature, relaxed and cosmopolitan city that also happens to be Australia’s centre of power. That’s more than a little irresistible for a lifelong political tragic like me.”

Group Program Director for the Capital Radio Network Pete Davidson says, “Brian brings his huge personality and a wealth of experience to the 2CC team. He is truly passionate about his craft as a communicator which will make him a hit with 2CC listeners”.

Carlton joins the floating lineup at 2CC on Thursday February 16 filling in for Stephen Cenatiempo at Breakfast.
