Vale John Summerton
John Summerton has died after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the first General Manager at 2 Double 0 in Wollongong (now i98FM), and of Power FM /2ST Nowra for 23 years before his retirement in 2013. Summerton spent nearly 50 years in radio including on air roles at 2WL Wollongong and programming and on air roles at 2CH in Sydney.

103.1 Power FM Ballarat was the most listened to station in the Xtra Insights Ballarat survey with 27.3 % (-0.8). Next came 3BA 102.3 FM with 21.3 (+0.1). Triple J came next with 9.3% then ABC Ballarat 6.7%.

Vale Ross ‘Rosco’ Meldrum
Gavin Wood has shared on Facebook: “Very sad news, my friend and mentor, especially those wonderful years at 4BC, Ross (Rosco) Meldrum has left the studio. One of the best on and off the air. Condolences to Christine and all the family. R.I.P. Gentle Man.” Meldrum was 74. His son Jamie Meldrum died in 2020.

In the latest GfK Radio 360 Metro Radio Ratings for 2024 the top rating stations were: 2GB in Sydney with 11.9% (-0.8) and 3AW in Melbourne with 13.8% (-0.7). Canberra GfK Survey 1 2024
In the latest Canberra GfK survey #1 the top rating station was once again MIX106.3 with a share of 20.2% (-1.4), followed by sister station Hit 104.7 with 15.9% (+0.4). ABC Canberra came third with 10.8% (-2.2). 2CA had a share of 5.1% (-1.8) with 2CC 4.7% (-0.2). ABC Canberra dropped 7.7 in mornings.
